ChatGPT
Connect ChatGPT to BlueNexus so it can access your users' connected services via MCP.
Prerequisites
- A ChatGPT account with developer mode access
- A BlueNexus account at app.bluenexus.ai
Setup
Step 1: Enable Developer Mode
In ChatGPT, go to Profile > Settings > Apps > Advanced Settings and enable Developer mode.
Step 2: Create the MCP Connector
Go to Settings > Apps > Create app and fill in:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Icon | BlueNexus logo (optional) |
| Description | BlueNexus Universal MCP |
| Authentication | OAuth (leave default) |
| MCP Server URL | https://api.bluenexus.ai/mcp |
Click Create.
Step 3: Authenticate with BlueNexus
After clicking Create, ChatGPT initiates the OAuth flow:
- You'll be redirected to BlueNexus to create an account or sign in
- Review the permissions requested and click Authorize
- You'll be redirected back to ChatGPT
The OAuth flow is handled automatically — ChatGPT uses Dynamic Client Registration behind the scenes.
Step 4: Connect Your Services
Go to app.bluenexus.ai > Connections and connect the services you want ChatGPT to access (Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, etc.).
Step 5: Use BlueNexus in Chat
- Confirm developer mode is active (orange indicator around the chat bar)
- Click the (+) icon to add tools
- Select BlueNexus as a tool for the conversation
- Start prompting
Example Prompts
Simple:
"What's on my Google Calendar today?"
Multi-service:
"Pull a meeting summary from yesterday's standup in Fireflies, paste it into the Notion page 'Meeting Notes', then send it to Chris on Slack."
Troubleshooting
Connector not working: Go to Apps > Connectors > BlueNexus and check if the status shows "Connected". If disconnected, click to reconnect.
Tool call failures: Verify the services being accessed are connected in your BlueNexus dashboard at app.bluenexus.ai > Connections.
Permission errors: The BlueNexus connector may need to be re-authorized if you change scopes or connections. Remove and re-add the connector in ChatGPT settings.
